THE CHICAGO FOOD PAIRING PROGRAM
Creating access to nourishment
The Chicago Food Pairing Program(CFPP) strives to combat the unequal distribution of Chicago resources by fostering meaningful connections between residents of the South and West sides and residents of better-resourced parts of our city—namely the Northside. The pairing program connects families with access to quality grocery stores with those for whom they are inaccessible. Volunteers serve as personal grocery shoppers and deliver the groceries. All groceries acquired are paid for by FRO.
CFPP works through this connection to provide those disenfranchised by the system with rightful autonomy over their own needs. All of our funding is achieved through donations. All of our work is achieved through volunteering. All of our success is achieved through solidarity.
We did not expect this program to be such a success. We are happy we were able to reach so many families. In order to create a more sustainable program, we are pausing CFPP to fundraise and restructure. Be on the lookout for updates soon!
Where there's a need there's an opportunity.
